Dr. Derek Blank, native to Akron, Ohio, completed his undergraduate degree from Xavier University. He then went on to complete his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland. Following graduation, he completed a hospital-intensive general practice residency at East Carolina University, Brody School of Medicine.
Dr. Blank returned to the University of Maryland for his postgraduate fellowship in pediatric dentistry. While there, he served as Chief Resident and completed specialty training at the School of Dentistry, University of Maryland Medical Center, and John Hopkins Hospital.
Dr. Blank is proud to be affiliated with a dental team recognized for being: “Best of Arlington 2015, Top Docs in the Washingtonian and other community awards.

On a personal note, Dr. Blank and his wife, Colleen, recently moved to Arlington with their young son, Anderson. Colleen works for The Today Show at the NBC News Washington Bureau. They are excited at the opportunity to explore Northern Virginia and feel warmly welcomed to the community by family and friends. Outside dentistry, Dr. Blank and his family enjoy traveling, hiking, and visiting local museums and parks.
